The Smith Meter Non-Ferrous Aircraft Refueling Meters are single-case rotary vane positive displacement meters built from hard-anodized aluminum and stainless steel, so no ferrous material contacts jet fuel. They are used on refuelers, defuelers, truck loading and other aircraft fuel accountability transfers, and come in straight-through or angle flow paths with Smith square studded, Victaulic or ANSI Class 125 flat-face connections. Sizes run from the 2-inch T-11-NF up to the 6-inch SG/ASG-6-NF.
Key specifications
- Models / max flow: T-11-NF (2 in angle): 100 GPM; T-20-NF (3 in angle): 250 GPM; SD/ASD-3 and -4: 420 GPM; SF/ASF-4 and -6: 800 GPM; SG/ASG-6: 1,200 GPM
- Connections: Smith square studded flanges (T-11/T-20, threaded companions available), ANSI Class 125 FF flanges or Victaulic
- Repeatability: ±0.02%
- Max working pressure: 150 psig, all models
- Temperature: -20 to 150 °F standard; -40 to 200 °F optional (consult factory)
- Materials: Hard-anodized aluminum body, cover, block and blades with nylon wear strips; aluminum rotor (manganese bronze on T-11); stainless steel bearings, shaft, cam and wetted gears; Rulon bushings
- Weight: 30 lb (T-11-NF) to 160 lb (SG-6-NF)
- Installation: All except T-11-NF must be downstream of a fine-mesh (e.g. 5 micron) strainer
How to read the model code
Example: ASF-4V-R-NF. Read the code left to right; each position selects one option:
- Position 1 (Flow path): Blank = straight-through; A = angle (not used on T-11/T-20)
- Position 2 (Single case): S (not used on T-11/T-20)
- Position 3 (Rotor size): T, D, F or G
- Position 4 (Size / connection): 11 = 2 in Smith square studded; 20 = 3 in Smith square studded; 3 = 3 in Cl 125 FF; 3V = 3 in Victaulic; 4 = 4 in Cl 125 FF; 4V = 4 in Victaulic; 6 = 6 in Cl 125 FF; 6V = 6 in Victaulic
- Position 5 (Calibrator): Blank = standard; R = bidirectional Type-G calibrator
- Position 6 (Construction): NF = non-ferrous
