The Smith Meter UPCC (Universal Performance Curve Compensator) is a microprocessor-based turbine meter preamplifier for Smith Meter MV Series multiviscosity turbine meters. It applies each meter's factory meter-factor versus velocity/viscosity curve in real time, using a constant viscosity, temperature-inferred viscosity, a 4-20 mA viscosity signal or a direct Solartron viscometer head. It also squares up the pickup signal for long cable runs and works as a small flow computer with rate, batch and cumulative totals.

How to read the model code
Example: UPCC-XU-STD. Read the code left to right; each position selects one option:
Position 1 (Model): UPCC = Universal Performance Curve Compensator
Position 2 (Housing): XU = UL/cUL listed; XC = ATEX / IECEx certified
Position 3 (Firmware): STD = standard
When ordered with a new MV Series meter, the UPCC is specified in the meter catalog code (pickup position U or W, testing position C or D) so the meter is calibrated for viscosity compensation.
