The INVALCO Interface Measurement System (IMS) Model 780 provides precise control of gas/liquid or liquid/liquid interface levels on separators, heater treaters, desalters, free-water knockouts, storage tanks and other process vessels. It measures capacitance from a non-fouling probe to ground; high-frequency detection electronics mounted in the probe virtually eliminate errors from fluid conductivity and conductive buildup, and allow the control unit to be mounted up to 500 ft away on ordinary cable. With a horizontal probe it can sense a clean interface up to about 24" away, depending on the fluids.
