The Smith Meter Multiviscosity (MV) Series turbine meter measures crude oils and other products across a relatively wide viscosity range for custody transfer and pipeline volume balance. A titanium swept-front helical rotor, horizontal tungsten-carbide journal bearings and an interchangeable 316 stainless measuring element give stable meter factors, tolerance of debris and easy servicing. Accuracy is Reynolds-number dependent, so FMS and the factory review each application to set the measurement turndown.

How to read the model code
Example: K2VFALU3A00. Read the code left to right; each position selects one option:
- Position 1 (Code): K = catalog code
- Position 2 (Product line): 2 = turbine meter
- Positions 3-4 (Model and size): VE 3"; VF 4"; VG 6"; VH 8"; VJ 10"; VK 12"; VM 16"
- Position 5 (Pressure class): A = Class 150; B = Class 300; D = Class 600
- Position 6 (Material / ends): L = low-temperature carbon steel RF flanges
- Position 7 (Internals): U = swept-front titanium rotor, unidirectional
- Position 8 (Pickups / preamps): 3 = two pickups + two preamps; E = two PA-IS-1 (Ellerbek); 9 = MMRT-II totalizer + two pickups; T = two pickups + AccuLERT XU; U = UPC compensator + one pickup; W = two UPCs + two pickups; J = two pickups + preamps on 24" standoffs; K = two pickups + AccuLERT XU on 24" standoff
- Position 9 (Testing / linearity): 0 = ±0.15% with high-performance conditioner; 1 = ±0.15% with conventional conditioner; A/B = specified linearity (special conditions); C/D = configured for UPCC viscosity compensation
- Position 10 (Compliance): 0 UL/cUL; 3 ATEX/IECEx; 4 ATEX/IECEx/PED (Ellerbek); 5 UL/cUL/CRN; 6 UL Brazil
- Position 11 (Specials): 0 = none; X = special
Include the full catalog code on the purchase order; the meter is tuned to the specific application.
Pricing and lead time are quoted per configuration. Send the model code (or your application details), product, flow range, and pressure/temperature to Flow Measurement Services for a quote.
