The INVALCO Series 507 back pressure valve maintains back pressure on separators, treaters, dehydrators, compressor stations and gas gathering systems. Line pressure reaches the diaphragm through external tubing (external sensor line) for ease of service. When line pressure exceeds the spring setting the valve opens and relieves through the orifice; the spring then reseats the soft plug for a positive seal. Ductile body, RNCE adaptable for sour service.

Key specifications

  • Body / cover: Ductile A-395 body; carbon steel cover
  • End connections: 2" and 3" grooved, or 2" FNPT
  • Diaphragm: Steel case, 26 sq. in., nylon-reinforced Buna-N
  • Containment pressure: 125 psi (all models); this is the maximum working pressure, and above the maximum spring setting the valve is fully open and uncontrolled
  • Temperature: -20 to 250 °F (limited by diaphragm)
  • Trim: 303 stainless stem and seat, molded fluoroelastomer on 416 stainless plug, 1-3/4" orifice
  • Flow capacity (fully open): Cv 36, Cg 1,200
  • Pressure increase, closed to full open: 0-40 psi spring: 4.0 psi; 40-125 psi spring: 10.5 psi
  • Packing: Non-lubricated Buna-N
  • Approx. size / weight: 26" tall x 9" case; 45 lb

How to specify / order

  • 2" grooved globe RDQG-201-507: spring 0-40 psi P/N 80006264; 40-100 psi P/N 80006266
  • 3" grooved globe RDQG-301-507: spring 0-40 psi P/N 80006276; 40-100 psi P/N 80006278
  • 2" threaded (FNPT) globe RDSG-201-507: spring 0-40 psi P/N 80006284; 40-100 psi P/N 80006286
  • State the desired set pressure and whether RNCE construction is required; part numbers apply only to the exact configuration described

Only pages 1-2 of the bulletin were used; the parts pages (3-4) were not reviewed for this listing. Bulletin issues to confirm with the factory: the upper spring range is 40-125 psi in the specifications but 40-100 psi in the ordering table; and the 3" grooved valve is listed at the same 45 lb weight as the 2".

Pricing and lead time are quoted per configuration. Send the model code (or your application details), product, flow range, and pressure/temperature to Flow Measurement Services for a quote. Specifications summarized from Smith Meter (INVALCO) bulletin SSIN056 Rev 0.1 (1/19) - pages 1-2 read; confirm current data with the factory before ordering.
