The Smith Meter Unidirectional Prover is a sphere-type displacement prover for calibrating PD and turbine meters on pipelines, loading racks and marine systems. The sphere is launched by a transfer valve that has only two moving parts (the main valve and the transfer hemisphere), travels in one direction through the calibrated section between two detector switches, and returns to the receiving chamber ready for the next run. A self-contained, closed-loop hydraulic system drives the valve and a control panel permits remote operation.

How to specify / order
Smith provers are engineered to order; the bulletin gives specifications and standard equipment rather than a position-by-position model code. Provide the following with your RFQ:
- Line size and flange class: 12-30 in; ANSI 150, 300 or 600
- Meter(s) to be proved: Type, size and K-factor
- Flow range: Minimum / normal / maximum flow
- Product: Name, gravity, viscosity, temperature and pressure range
- Controls: Local panel and remote control interface
- Certification: Water-draw calibration; pressure code
Pricing and lead time are quoted per configuration. Send the model code (or your application details), product, flow range, and pressure/temperature to Flow Measurement Services for a quote. Specifications summarized from Smith Meter bulletin SS0V003; confirm current data with the factory before ordering.
