The Smith Meter AccuLoad IV is the current electronic preset delivery system for custody-transfer loading and unloading of petroleum and chemical liquids at truck, rail and barge racks, bulk plants and docks. It handles straight and blended products (gasoline, biofuels, diesel, lube and fuel oils, LPG, NGL, solvents and chemicals), and controls meters, valves, additive injection and blending from a touch-screen operator interface. Four hardware platforms cover everything from a one-arm bulk plant to an 18-arm automated terminal, and upgrade kits let existing AccuLoad III units move to AccuLoad IV.

Key specifications

  • ST (Single Touch Screen): Explosion-proof; one or two arms; up to 4 single/dual-pulse product meters; 4 additive meters (24 with A4I module); approx. 50 lb
  • QT (Quad Touch Screen): Explosion-proof; up to 6 arms; up to 6 product meters; 4 additive meters (24 with A4I); approx. 125 lb
  • N4 (NEMA 4X): Stainless NEMA 4X enclosure; one or two arms; up to 4 product meters; card reader, indicator lights and stop button options
  • SA (Split Architecture): NEMA 4X MMI plus remote flow control module (FCM); up to 18 arms, 24 product meters, 56 additive meters (96 with remote A4I)
  • Upgrade kits: UG3 (AccuLoad III to IV, ST/QT) and FMU (ALIII FCM to ALIV SA)
  • Analog I/O: Up to six analog modules: RTD, 4-20 mA in/out, 1-5 VDC in/out
  • Applications: Truck, rail and barge loading/unloading; straight and blended products; additive injection
  • Firmware: Standard arm-count firmware (ARM1-ARM6) or PEMEX non-resettable volume firmware (ARP1-ARP6)

How to read the model code

Example: ALIV-QT-XP-ARM2-A00000-1. Read the code left to right; each position selects one option:

  • Position 1 (Product): ALIV = AccuLoad IV
  • Position 2 (Hardware model): ST = single touch screen; QT = quad touch screen (N4 and SA use their own codes below)
  • Position 3 (Housing): XP = explosion-proof; UG3 = upgrade kit for AccuLoad III
  • Position 4 (Firmware / arms): ARM1-ARM6 = 1-6 arm operation (3-6 arms QT only); ARP1-ARP6 = PEMEX non-resettable volume versions
  • Position 5 (Analog modules (5 digits, max 6 total)): Digit 1 = RTDs; 2 = 4-20 mA inputs; 3 = 4-20 mA outputs; 4 = 1-5 VDC inputs; 5 = 1-5 VDC outputs. A00000 = none
  • Position 6 (Hardware option): 0 = none; 1 = one A4I additive I/O board; 2 = two A4I boards (QT only)
  • N4 model (ALIV N4 code): ALIV N4-(ARM1/ARM2/ARP1/ARP2)-(stop button 0/1)-(lights 0 none, 1 red/green, 3 green/green)-(card reader 0/1)-(hardware option 0)-(analog modules)-(fuse holders 0-10)
  • SA MMI (ALIV N4-MMI code): ALIV N4-MMI-(stop button)-(lights)-(card reader)-(MMI position 0 = single/A, 1 = B)-(option 0)
  • SA FCM (ALIV FCM code): ALIV (FCM new / FMU upgrade)-(SA1 to SA18 arms)-(board sets 1-4)-(fuse holders 0-50)-(single/dual MMI 0/1), plus one board-set code per set: ALIV SAA/SAB/SAC/SAD-(firmware)-(analog modules)-(A4I 0/1)

A complete model number is required when ordering; FMS will help configure meters, valves, additive and card-reader interfaces.

Pricing and lead time are quoted per configuration. Send the model code (or your application details), product, flow range, and pressure/temperature to Flow Measurement Services for a quote. Specifications summarized from Smith Meter bulletin SS06200; confirm current data with the factory before ordering.
