The Smith Meter Model 200-50B is a hydraulically operated, diaphragm-actuated, globe-pattern automatic pressure reducing control valve that holds a steady downstream pressure regardless of upstream fluctuations. A normally-open 50B pilot in the downstream side of the pilot loop senses outlet pressure through an integral sense line; as downstream pressure approaches the setting the pilot restricts the cover vent path and the main valve throttles. It is a modulating valve for most non-dead-end systems where downstream equipment needs protection from excessive pump pressure. Control range is limited to flow rates above 2% of nominal maximum flow.

Ordering information
The bulletin has no position-by-position model code. Per its ordering section, specify:
- Valve size (2", 3", 4" or 6") and flange class
- Liquid name and specific gravity or API gravity
- Temperature range and viscosity range (minimum, normal, maximum)
- Maximum working pressure and the pressure setting(s) required
- Seals: Buna-N or Viton; any additional pilot functions
Bulletin notes: the bulletin title reads "Pressure-Limiting Valve" while the text describes a pressure reducing valve; the pressure-drop formula beside the flow table is garbled in the PDF (it is the usual Cv relation using specific gravity and flow); The dimension table prints the 2" pilot-envelope dimension D as 7.5 in (140 mm); 7.5 in is about 191 mm. For a lower-pressure-drop reducing valve see the 200-64A.
Pricing and lead time are quoted per configuration. Send the model code (or the details above) with your product and operating conditions to Flow Measurement Services for a quote. Specifications summarized from Smith Meter bulletin SS03015 Rev 0.4 (8/17); confirm current data with the factory before ordering.
