The Smith Meter Model 200-30A is a hydraulically operated, electrically actuated, globe-pattern solenoid block valve. It is normally closed and opens only when the normally-closed 30A solenoid in the downstream side of the pilot loop vents the main valve cover; when power is removed, upstream pressure fills the cover and the valve closes. Power failure or diaphragm rupture closes the valve, so it serves as a fail-closed system permissive. It is ideal with the Smith Meter DE-1 dual electric air release head on low-viscosity (below 200 SSU) air elimination systems, stopping flow when air is detected. The assembly is a bare 202 diaphragm valve, a 09SC strainer, a Model 13 needle valve (closing speed) and the 30A solenoid, and it can be combined with 40A/42A, 60A or 50B pilots.

Bulletin notes: in the dimension table the 4" dimension B is printed "95 (241)" (9.5 in) and the 6" dimension E "5.5 (40)" (should be 140 mm); The dimension table prints the 2" pilot-envelope dimension D as 7.5 in (140 mm); 7.5 in is about 191 mm.
