The INVALCO WH Oilfield Series is a rugged liquid turbine meter for the oil patch, with a three-piece rotor/stator design, a cast helical stainless rotor, heavy-duty upstream and downstream flow-straightening supports, and double-sleeve tungsten carbide journal bearings with thrust balls. All wetted parts are stainless steel. Available in 1" and 2" wafer, 1" and 1-1/2" male NPT, and 2" female x female NPT.
Key specifications
- Flow ranges / nominal K-factor: 1": 6.5-65 GPM, 1,211 p/gal; 1-1/2": 17.5-175 GPM, 342 p/gal; 2": 40-400 GPM, 52 p/gal (see note)
- Pressure rating: 1" and 1-1/2" NPT and 2" f x f NPT: 5,000 psig; 1" and 2" wafer: per flange rating to ANSI 1500
- Temperature: -20 to 228 °F (limited by pickup coil; consult factory outside this range)
- Linearity / repeatability: +/-1.0% over stated range / +/-0.05%
- Overrange: 125% of flow rate for intermittent periods
- Output: 100-1,000 Hz; approx. 100 mV @ 100 Hz to 1.5 V RMS @ 1,000 Hz
- Standard pickup coil (order separately): 975 Ohm DC resistance, 400 mH, 10SL-4S mating connector or wire leads
- Materials: 316 SS body, flanges and retainer; AE 5360 SS supports; CD4MCU SS rotor; tungsten carbide shaft and bearings
How to read the model code
Example: WH 3 1 000. Read the code left to right; each position selects one option:
- Base: WH tungsten carbide sleeve bearing meter
- Body style: 1 = 2" f x f NPT; 3 = male NPT; 9 = wafer
- Meter size and flow range: 1 = 1" (6.5-65 GPM); 15 = 1-1/2" (17.5-175 GPM); 2 = 2" (33-400 GPM per the code table)
- Final group: 000 (the bulletin prints this group with no heading or description)
Order the pickup coil, cable and electronics separately. Bulletin errors to confirm with the factory: the 2" range is 40-400 GPM in the capacity table but 33-400 GPM in the ordering code; 5,000 psig is converted as 34,473 Pa (should be about 34,474 kPa); -20 °F is converted as -290 °C (about -29 °C); and the last code group (000) has no description.
Pricing and lead time are quoted per configuration. Send the model code (or your application details), product, flow range, and pressure/temperature to Flow Measurement Services for a quote. Specifications summarized from Smith Meter (INVALCO) bulletin SSIN038 Rev 0.1 (11/18); confirm current data with the factory before ordering.
