The Smith Meter Model M16 is a 16-inch, steel, double-case, straight-through rotary vane positive displacement (PD) meter in the Crude Transportation (CT) Series of large PD meters. CT Series meters use lightened blades, full-width wear strips and tungsten carbide roller pins for long service in harsh crude oil, and are equally suited to refined products for custody transfer, batching, blending and leak detection.

How to specify / order
The M16 bulletin gives a model designation and ordering checklist rather than a position-by-position catalog code. Provide the following with your RFQ:
- Model designation: M16-S#, where S# is the pressure rating: M16-S3 = Class 150, 285 psi; M16-S5 = Class 300, 300 psi; M16-S6 = Class 300, 740 psi
- Application: Batching, loading, blending, inventory, custody transfer, process control
- Operating conditions: Liquid name and gravity; minimum/normal/maximum flow, temperature and viscosity; maximum working pressure
- Seals: Buna-N (standard), FKM/Viton or PTFE
- Units of registration: Gallons, barrels, liters, dekaliters, cubic meters, pounds, kilograms
- Direction of flow: Left-to-right standard; specify right-to-left if required
- Options / accessories: Trim, clearances, counters, pulse transmitters, ATC/ATG, strainer, air eliminator, valves
Pricing and lead time are quoted per configuration. Send the model code (or the details above), product, flow range, and pressure/temperature to Flow Measurement Services for a quote. Specifications summarized from Smith Meter bulletin SS01021; confirm current data with the factory before ordering.
